Coach Purcell is an accomplished educator and football coach with almost two decades of coaching experience at the high school level. Known for his commitment to player development both on and off the field, he has built a reputation as a leader who emphasizes discipline, accountability, and character development.

Coach Purcell holds a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University in Organizational Leadership & Supervision and a master’s degree in Secondary Education from Indiana Wesleyan University. As a high school player, Coach Purcell played for Indiana Hall of Fame coach Vince Lorenzano at Bishop Chatard High School from 2001 to 2004 compiling a record of 51-8, along with three state championships. He also assisted Bishop Chatard in winning the state championship in 2010 as a coach.

A member of both the Indiana Football Coaches Association and the American Football Coaches Association, Purcell remains dedicated to growing the game and mentoring student-athletes to succeed academically, athletically, and in life. He’s been married to his wife Jacki for fourteen years, and they are the proud parents of four children: Griffey (12), Graham (10), Gus (9), and Goldie (6).
