Coach Kelly graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the Taylor University in Physical and Health Education.

Michael Kelly played football at the Taylor University, lettering for three years under Coach Steve Wilt from 2001 to 2005. His coaching career began as an assistant at Central Hardin High School before becoming moving back to Indiana to coach at Fishers High School as the Freshman OL/DL coach in his first season. He later moved into the role of TE/OC in his final 3 years at Fishers High School. Fishers football quickly grew in to one of the top programs in Indiana winning the State Championship in 2010. Kelly moved to Seymour High school for his first Head Coaching opportunity. His coaching recorded while at Seymour was 14-16. in his first 3 seasons. Coach Kelly assumed the Head Coaching role at Hamilton Southeastern High School in 2020. While at Southeastern Kellys teams have a 2 sectional championships, 1 regional championship, and 1 Semi-state appearance. Kellys team record at Southeastern is 48-19.

Kelly has coached numerous players that have gone on to play at all levels of college football and the NFL.

A native of Portland, Indiana, Kelly and his wife Erica of 21 years have three children Karson (18), Addison (16), and Braxton (13).
